Duncan Mitchell - Principal
Duncan joined OCC in 2016. He leads the firm's transformation work leveraging his broad experience in process and manufacturing industries to create value from M&A, performance management, continuous improvement, organizational redesign and post-merger integration.
During Duncan's career he has been a management consultant with McKinsey, he ran a steel plant in South Carolina, he helped integrate large oil and steel companies following mergers and he led smaller companies from start-up through financing phases.
He is a published author with a unique perspective on the paths to optimal business improvement. He lives in Chicago where he is a sometime slam-poet on Sunday evenings.
Julia Bernhardt - Principal
Julia joined OCC in 2018. She is a Master Connector of the 3 Ps; People – building strong and energetic teams for implementing transformative value chains; Processes – across the fields of global supply chain in digitalized and globalized emerging technologies; Products – from commodities to highly engineered components.
Julia honed her 3P philosophy at Audi AG in Germany and Navistar Inc. in the US. A broad industry background in operations and sales roles contributed to her success in implementing strategies for Organizational Change, Supply Chain and Strategic Sourcing as well as M&A Integration and Due Diligence.
Julia is currently chairperson of the education committee for the CSCMP Chicago Roundtable.
William (Bill) Weinstein - Principal
Bill joined OCC in September 2019. He is a trusted operations and general business consultant who efficiently directs both Office and Operations functions. Bill specializes in identifying streamline efficiencies, resulting in cost savings, driving revenue and volume growth. Focused on helping both customers and suppliers cut costs, Bill is OCC's expert in packaging and printing to introduce innovative ideas in design, manufacturing, logistics, and supply chain.
Bill's clients value him for his decision-making, problem solving, teaching, coaching, and mentoring skills. He is a senior leader with a passion for building business relationships as a trusted partner.
Dan Prochaska - Principal
Dan joined OCC in 2019. He leverages his broad retail and wholesale experience at both fortune 500 and mid-sized companies driving strategic direction and operational innovation. Dan launched his career leading a highly automated state of the art distribution center replenishing one million pairs of shoes per day across 5000 retail stores.
Dan led the corporate Supply Chain strategy as VP of Supply Chain at Ace Hardware Corp. and was responsible for Ace’s SAP implementation. Dan also led a corporate-wide culture change initiative at Ace.
His career includes time in manufacturing and B2B sales as the Vice President and General Manager of Pittsburgh Glass Works after market business. In his role reporting to the Chairman, he drove value added sales and operational cost reduction across North America in this PE owned company.
Dan resides in the Chicago area and enjoys a leadership role in a local Toastmasters and improv group.
Bill Edwards - Principal
Bill joined OCC in 2020. His leadership creates alignment between strategy, sales, and
operations. He has an efficient approach to strategy development, and uses automotive-style
LEAN methods to effectively implement strategies. He is a hands-on leader, effective from the
Board room to the shop floor to the customers’ facilities.
Bill has industry experience in automotive, chemicals, metals, and B2B logistics. His functional
experience includes work as Board member, CEO, COO, VP of Operations, Manager of
Corporate Planning, Plant Manager, and Supply Chain Manager.
He has led start-ups, turn-arounds, and M&A projects; and has helped overseas companies
launch in the USA. He has had high-dollar B2B sales experience, but also sat across the desk as
a purchasing manager. He has worked at companies large and small; domestic and international;
publicly-, privately-, and private equity-owned.
Bill is a member of the Private Directors Association, resides in the Chicago area, and in the
summer has been known to go on 100-mile bicycle rides.
Kim Krugman – Principal
Kim joined OCC in 2019. She is a versatile, innovative, and solution-driven attorney with multi-disciplinary experience, specifically as a litigator and corporate generalist. As a trusted legal and business advisor, Kim solves legal and business problems while driving business forward in alignment with strategic goals, structured to mitigate risks and enhance relationships. She is a visionary leader who analyzes transactions and legal principles on complex matters to provide pragmatic, cost-efficient, and effective solutions. Further, Kim cultivates sustainable relationships with all levels of internal and external clients to achieve organization objectives.
Kim has a proven track record for reducing outside legal costs (42% at Grubb & Ellis, representing savings of no less than $5 million annually). This resulted in reduced insurance premiums because of Kim’s positive influence on case outcomes and driving favorable and efficient settlements. Kim is also skilled in litigation management, contracts, acquisitions, investigations, employment, restrictive covenants, training, and risk management.
Yves Buchmann - Principal
Yves joined OCC in January 2020. His extensive experience in the industrial manufacturing sector allows him to easily transition from a high-level executive mindset to a boots on the ground understanding of operational nuances. His arsenal of problem solving and continual improvement tools facilitates organizational transformation.
After starting his career importing technical components from Europe for the US Automotive Industry, Yves began his journey into becoming an expert on business analytics. His keen insight into business and operational processes allows him to rapidly identify shortcomings as well as opportunities and deploy effective countermeasures with objectivity.
He speaks four languages (English, German, French and Spanish) and his experiences gained by living on three continents translates into a keen understanding of international business cultures.
Yves lives in the Chicago suburbs, volunteers for Rotary International and is a Toastmasters International member.
Curt Koehn - Principal
Curt joined OCC in 2020. He is a tenured commercial leader specializing in transformational go-to-market strategies, aligning sales and marketing with a “hand-in-glove” approach. With almost 30-years professional experience, 23 in health care and over a decade of that at the executive level, Curt has led sales and marketing teams for Fortune 100 companies like Cardinal Health and Siemens Healthineers, as well as for smaller, PE-backed and publicly-traded restarts.
Over the course of his career, Curt has demonstrated the unique ability to flatten learning curves quickly across multiple, highly technical clinical disciplines, then crafting and communicating distinctive and meaningful narratives to increase mind share and drive sustainable growth in highly competitive market segments.
With ownership of a >$1 billion P&L while at Siemens, Curt led many productivity and cost cutting initiatives, avoiding negative top-line impact. His professional toolbox includes: organizational design, compensation planning, digital marketing, channel management, C-Suite and enterprise negotiation, GTM strategy development and execution, product launch and management, CRM implementation, educational design and delivery, and crisis management, among other demonstrated skills.
